Their words:

Built out of an old industrial factory, the nearly 4,000 square foot venue has been a space for art, music, and performance for over a decade.

Our words:

Mostly a venue for rock, DJs, and burlesque events, Public Assembly occasionally hosts experimental jazz shows. Check the website’s calendar, as it is sprinkled with young, genre-melding improvisational groups trying out their material. The space itself, formerly the Galapagos Art Space, and even more formerly a factory, is striking, and includes a large and pleasantly eerie reflecting pool near the entrance. There are two performance spaces: the larger front room has a large raised stage, and the backroom is smaller but more designed to focus attention on the performance rather than the extensive bar. Public Assembly has events about three or four days a week, although this includes burlesque shows and DJs. Between $5 and $15 cover after 9:00 pm on nights with performances.
