Their words:
We think it's time to acknowledge the Horrific Triumph of Capitalism and see if poetry, placed in an amenable circumstance, full of pleasure, music, danger, intellectual irascibility, hiphop, highbrow culture, multiculti activism, communal chutzpah, Po Mo Beatology, and the Best Coffee on the Block, can make a go of it on The Bowery.
Our words:
The Bowery Poetry Club is a café, bar, and performance space that is best known for housing poetry readings and art, but also presents concerts of progressive music. The live room is spacious, and not too imposing, with an healthy absence of swank. Check the schedule on the website, because there is a pretty large mix of music and poetry.
