Our Words: Smoke is a cozy romantic spot and the classiest club above 60th St. Tables are crammed together and often when the bar is full standing room is packed in the back corner of the room. Acoustics are very good and the quiet policy is strictly enforced. Music leans towards the hard-bop end of things, having been a teeth-cutting spot for guys like Jim Rotondi, David Hazeltine, and Eric Alexander and their compatriots - who still monopolize the venue's calendar.
