Our Words: The Jazz Standard is a great space, the same relative size as the Blue Note or Village Vanguard, with an equally loaded calendar, but much better sightlines, plus the BBQ is incredibly on point. Though the ticket prices aren’t on the cheap side, this is still the best place to get a great dinner and then have your mind blown by the likes of one of Dave Douglas’ many groups, Christian McBride, James Blood Ulmer, or Donny McCaslin.
