Josh Sinton’s an American improviser, creative artist and contemporary composer. He has performed with a theater troupe in India, on the streets of Jerusalem, in Chicago theaters and also the concert halls of Boston. Josh grew up in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey the fourth of five sons in a family of scientists who also happen to be avid music listeners and collectors. His earliest musical memory is of his father playing sloppy stride-piano on their old upright piano.
Currently Josh resides in Brooklyn with his wife Laura and daughter Zosia. He writes music for a variety of bands, leads the Steve Lacy repertory band Ideal Bread and contributes his talents to Darcy James Argue’s Secret Society, Andrew D’Angelo’s Big Band, the Nate Wooley Quintet and Anthony Braxton’s Tri-Centric Orchestra among many others.
